Below is the Worship Service schedule for CMC Reunion/Family Camp at Camp Quarryledge, July 10-16. Guest Ministers Apostle Ron Harmon, President of Seventy Larry McGuire, and Field Leader Blair White will be leading us in worship and discovery sessions that focus exclusively on church mission, hearing God’s voice, and relational evangelism this week. Worship will focus on these themes through Spirit-filled preaching, the sacraments, and testimonies. If you cannot come to camp for the week, but want to join us to experience our guest ministry and Christ's renewal, I invite you to join us for worship. You will find a description, with times and Guest Ministry schedule, below.
Saturday, July 10th from 7:00-8:15pm – Sharing in Christ
Chicago congregation, OnEdge, is leading this ordination service. Former Pastor, Brian Ober, will be ordained to the office of Seventy. The service will be a mix of OnEdge’s relational cell-group ministry style and traditional worship. Their current Pastor, Elder Faith Johnson, will be speaking. Come and experience the Spirit in sacrament and honor each one’s call to serve in a relational worship setting.
Sunday Morning, July 11th from 10:30-12:00pm – Sharing God’s Vision for Creation
Apostle Ron Harmon, Jr. will be bringing the message Sunday morning. Ron’s vision for congregational mission and powerful testimony of Jesus Christ will be the center of this worship service.
Sunday Evening, July 11th from 7:00-9:15pm – Sharing God’s Vision for Creation
Services Sunday night will begin inside in preparation for an ordination service. Matt Frizzell will be ordained to the Office of High Priest at a service that will begin at 7pm. After a break, at 8:00pm, Youth Minister, Kevin Henrickson, will be leading an all-camp family campfire. Come celebrate God’s vision for creation under the roof of God’s sanctuary. Sun sets at 8:25pm!
Monday Evening, July 12th from 7:00-8:15pm – Sharing the Peace of Jesus Christ
Monday theme, Sharing the Peace of Jesus Christ, will focus on healing for ourselves and the body, the church. A healing service is planned, led by Bill Howard and Matt Frizzell. It will center on the power of preparing for God’s presence in the laying on of hands. Is your spirit down? Confused? Searching? Are you bearing a burden or carrying the burdens of your congregation? Come experience God’s healing presence with local and guest ministry.
Tuesday Evening, July 13th from 7:00-8:15pm – Sharing the Sacred Story
Tuesday evening, President of Seventy Larry McGuire shares in preaching and testimonies. Jon Young, Miranda Campbell, & Cindy Ramer from Plano will be planning and presiding over the praise and preparation for Larry’s ministry. Come hear the Sacred Story of God’s purposes in us and achieved with us through one of Larry’s contemporary testimonies of Christ’s work TODAY.
Wednesday, July 14th from 7:00-8:15pm – Sharing the Enduring Principles
Tonight we will celebrate in an old fashioned Prayer and Testimony Service led by Evangelists, Gayle Parker, Jan Stoneking, and Bill Howard. Join the ole time celebration of witness, prayer, & testimony in community with Christ.
Thursday, July 15th from 7:00-8:15pm – Sharing God’s Mission in the World
At this Baptismal Service, Field Leader Blair White will be preaching on God’s Mission in the World. Lynn Brady, Pastor of Brainerd congregation, will lead us in Spirit-led praise and worship. The service will focus on the gift and celebration of God’s invitation into the water of repentance, into new life, and to the promised land in the sacrament of baptism. The hearing the Good News is for this time and all time. Come celebrate new life of Christ’s body together.
If you cannot attend Reunion/Family Camp and want to support our ministry to young families and members of all ages, I invite you to consider your financial support. We continue to keep registration cost low ($10/person) for Reunion/Family Camp so that anyone may come and experience Community of Christ. Actual costs are approximately $150-200 a person and we make expenses based on the sharing and gifts of those at camp as well as those who support its ministry from afar. We have several families registered this year and your financial support would go directly to supporting them, our campgrounds, and guest ministry. If you are interested in making a donation to support Reunion/Family Camp this year, donations to can be sent to “CMC 2010 Family Camp,” P.O. Box 901, Oswego, IL 60543. Make sure checks are made out to Community of Christ and “2010 Family Camp” is noted in the memo line.

Pre-Conference Meeting on Legislation on Homosexuality
On Sunday, February 21st from 3:00-5:30pm at Lombard Community of Christ, Apostle Ron Harmon will be leading a discussion on legislation regarding homosexuality. The purpose of this gathering is for delegates of World Conference to ask questions and clarify theological, scriptural, policy, and missional aspects of legislation on homosexuality, as well as share perspectives. Friends and members of Community of Christ and Chicago Mission Center are welcome to attend and participate. Note, however, that the purpose of the meeting is for delegate discussion. If full participation of friends and members limit or overwhelm our time together, moderators will prioritize delegate questions and questions in our discussion.
Come prepared for worship, reflection, and discernment together. All who participate are strongly encouraged to spend time with the Community of Christ resource, Yearning for God.
