The DeKalb Branch Community of Christ is a friendly congregation of people from all walks of life. A spirit led
atmosphere is prominent among those who worship together. Activities for all ages are provided.
Goals of the congregation are to...
- Fill the Sanctuary.
We will come on Sundays with an expectant attitude, expecting to sense the presence of our Lord and rich fellowship
with each other. We will expect our services to be dignified, giving God the rightful honor and place in our sanctuary. We
will maintain a beautiful and clean sanctuary in which to worship. We will establish a congregational visiting program to ascertain and minister to our members' needs.
- "Adopt the Knolls"
We will identify and perform a "community project," such as cleaning up the lake area of the Knolls subdivision. We will
procure addresses and develop a mainling list of the Knolls residents to inform them of our presence and our projects.
We will look into offering a Vacation Bible School with outreach into the locale. We will offer rides to Sunday School for Knolls children. We will investigate costs of constructing a basketball court for the area residents.
- Expand "SAFE PASSAGE" outreach.
As SAFE PASSAGE, the home for abused women and children, is faced with reduced state funding and cutbacks
from United Way, we have the opportunity to make a difference. We will solicit our members, friends, and the Knolls
residents for goods to be donated to SAFE PASSAGE. We will continue with our $.02-a-meal program and present any special needs by SAFE PASSAGE to our congregation.
Won't you join us in our humble attempt to live as we understand Jesus Christ would have us live?
